Event Details

O2 Litmus and the Oracle Java team are working together to help the developer community make more out of the Java ME market opportunity. As a result we are bringing together some of the best and brightest in web and mobile to share their experiences and discuss the rich and relevant tools available today.

We invite you to get together with fellow developers at our next event on Monday 7th June from 6:30pm onwards, at:

Ping Pong
3 Appold Street
London, EC2A 2AF

Nearest tubes: Liverpool Street / Moorgate / Old Street.

What can you expect from the event this time round? We’ve invited the who’s who of Java developers in the UK, including Ariel Levin to talk about LWUIT the UI library that helps content developers in creating compelling and consistent Java ME applications - making your apps more appealing. In addition, there will be independent Java developers to talk about their experiences of Java applications and how they stack up against others platforms.

What a great opportunity to catch up on the latest news and network with like-minded people. RSVP extended until Friday 4th June. Register Now to guarantee your place!"

Thanks,
The O2 Litmus and Oracle Teams

“This sort of focus on Java on mobile is very much underrated and under-provided for at the moment. The mobile community mindset is still in goldrush-mode on iPhone and Android which these days are for many (most by some account?) developers not profit makers (though there are some truly excellent apps available for them and they provide a benchmark for apps on other platforms)… J2ME is still living under the cloud of it's historic technical and other failures, and yet it is significantly more stable and reliable and less fragmented than it used to be. And the blunt truth of it being on 3-4 billion handsets (or more?) - of which enough of a fraction are indeed reachable to make the platform worth serious effort and renewed mind share from developers.”

O2 Litmus

O2 Litmus is a community project dedicated to finding and nurturing the very best new mobile, wireless and internet-enabled applications and services. It’s a place where anyone with a great idea for a new mobile application can find the tools they need, but it’s also a place where users can engage with the developers, help them test the newest mobile applications and help to create the ideas that will define the mobile experience of the future. It’s this engagement between the developer and user communities that make Litmus a focal point for real innovation.
